YouTube pays partner channels through Google AdSense. Once your channel is in the YouTube Partner Program and linked to AdSense, a handful of steps decide whether your first payment arrives on time.
The checklist
- Link the right AdSense account. Use one account that belongs to you and keep your details consistent.
- Verify your address. Google sends a PIN to your postal address once you reach the verification threshold. Enter your address exactly as the postal system knows it so the letter arrives.
- Add your payment method. Use a bank account in your own name. The account holder name should match the name on your AdSense payment profile.
- Complete the tax information. Google asks for tax details for creators outside the US. Finish this section; missing tax information can reduce or delay what you receive.
- Reach the payment threshold. Google pays once your balance passes its minimum payout amount, which has been 100 US dollars for most accounts.
When does the money arrive?
AdSense issues payments once a month, in the latter part of the month, after the month in which you crossed the threshold. After that, your bank may need a few working days to credit the amount.
Common reasons for a delay
- The PIN letter never arrived and was never re-requested.
- The bank account name does not match the payment profile.
- The balance is under the threshold.
- The payment profile or tax form still has a warning on it.
